Description

Crispy on the outside, warm and gooey on the inside — Trader Joe’s Air Fryer Apple Blossoms are a quick, cozy dessert bursting with sweet apple filling wrapped in flaky puff pastry. Ready in under 30 minutes, they’re perfect for weeknight treats, holiday gatherings, or anytime you’re craving bakery-style goodness at home.

Ingredients

For the Apple Filling

  • 2 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and diced

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

For the Pastry

  • 1 package Trader Joe’s Puff Pastry (2 sheets)

  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

  • Sugar for sprinkling on top (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Apples – In a bowl, mix diced apples with lemon juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, and cornstarch. Set aside.

  2. Roll Out the Pastry – On a lightly floured surface, roll each puff pastry sheet to about ⅛-inch thick. Cut into 4×4-inch squares.

  3. Add the Filling – Place 1 tablespoon of apple mixture in the center of each square.

  4. Fold and Seal – Fold into triangles or pinch corners together into bundles. Press edges to seal.

  5. Egg Wash – Beat egg and brush over pastries. Sprinkle with sugar if desired.

  6. Air Fry – Preheat air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Arrange blossoms in a single layer, not overcrowding. Cook for 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.

  7. Serve – Let cool slightly and serve warm.

Notes

  • Apple Choice: Granny Smith and Honeycrisp work best.

  • Don’t Overfill: Prevents bursting during cooking.

  • Keep Pastry Cold: Makes it easier to handle.

  • Extra Spice: Add nutmeg or ginger for variety.

  • Storage: Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in the air fryer for 2–3 minutes to crisp up again.
