Ingredients
For the Apple Filling
-
2 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and diced
-
1 tablespoon lemon juice
-
1 tablespoon brown sugar
-
1 teaspoon cinnamon
-
1 tablespoon cornstarch
For the Pastry
-
1 package Trader Joe’s Puff Pastry (2 sheets)
-
1 egg (for egg wash)
-
Sugar for sprinkling on top (optional)
Instructions
-
Prepare the Apples – In a bowl, mix diced apples with lemon juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, and cornstarch. Set aside.
-
Roll Out the Pastry – On a lightly floured surface, roll each puff pastry sheet to about ⅛-inch thick. Cut into 4×4-inch squares.
-
Add the Filling – Place 1 tablespoon of apple mixture in the center of each square.
-
Fold and Seal – Fold into triangles or pinch corners together into bundles. Press edges to seal.
-
Egg Wash – Beat egg and brush over pastries. Sprinkle with sugar if desired.
-
Air Fry – Preheat air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Arrange blossoms in a single layer, not overcrowding. Cook for 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
-
Serve – Let cool slightly and serve warm.
Notes
-
Apple Choice: Granny Smith and Honeycrisp work best.
-
Don’t Overfill: Prevents bursting during cooking.
-
Keep Pastry Cold: Makes it easier to handle.
-
Extra Spice: Add nutmeg or ginger for variety.
-
Storage: Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in the air fryer for 2–3 minutes to crisp up again.
