Description

Homemade Air Fryer Pop Tarts bring nostalgic flavors with a modern, healthier twist. Enjoy a flaky, buttery crust filled with your favorite jams, chocolate, or cream cheese, all cooked to crispy perfection in the air fryer. Perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert!

Ingredients

For the Dough

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

  • 1/4 cup cold water

For the Filling

  • Fruit jams (strawberry, raspberry, or apricot)

  • Nutella or chocolate spread

  • Cream cheese mixed with powdered sugar (optional)

For the Topping (Optional)

  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

  • Colored sprinkles or powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: Combine flour, sugar, and salt in a large bowl. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add cold water until dough forms. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate 30 minutes.

  2. Roll the Dough: Roll dough to 1/8-inch thickness. Cut into 3×4 inch rectangles.

  3. Fill the Pastries: Place a tablespoon of filling on half of the rectangles, leaving a small border around edges.

  4. Seal the Edges: Place remaining rectangles on top and press edges with a fork to seal.

  5. Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat to 350°F (175°C). Brush tops with beaten egg if desired.

  6. Air Fry: Cook in batches for 8–10 minutes or until golden and crispy.

  7. Cool and Serve: Let cool slightly. Sprinkle with powdered sugar or add sprinkles if desired.

Serving Suggestions:

  • Pair with fresh fruit like strawberries or blueberries.

  • Serve with a warm cup of coffee or tea.

  • Drizzle with powdered sugar glaze for extra sweetness.

  • Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a dessert twist.

Notes

  • Chill dough to ensure a flaky crust.

  • Avoid overfilling to prevent bursting.

  • Monitor cooking time as air fryer temperatures vary.

  • Experiment with sweet or savory fillings.

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for 2 days at room temperature or longer in the fridge.
