Description

These air fryer protein brownies are a healthier twist on a classic favorite. Packed with protein and low in sugar, they’re perfect for dessert, a post-workout snack, or anytime you crave chocolatey goodness. The air fryer ensures a rich, fudgy texture without the extra calories or oil.

Ingredients

Brownie Base

  • 1 cup almond flour

  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder

  • 1/2 cup protein powder (chocolate or vanilla)

  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce

  • 1/4 cup almond milk (or milk of choice)

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Optional Mix-ins

  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips

  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)

  • 1/4 cup shredded coconut

Instructions

  • Preheat Air Fryer: Set to 320°F (160°C).

  • Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine almond flour, cocoa powder, protein powder, baking soda, and salt.

  • Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk honey (or maple syrup), applesauce, almond milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.

  • Combine Mixtures: Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in optional mix-ins if using.

  • Prepare Baking Dish: Lightly grease an air fryer–safe pan (8×4 inch works well) and pour batter evenly.

  • Air Fry: Cook for 12–15 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.

  • Cool & Serve: Let cool 10 minutes before slicing. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Don’t overbake to maintain fudginess.

  • Cool brownies before slicing for better texture.

  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge up to 1 week, or freeze for longer storage.

  • Experiment with flavors: peppermint extract, cinnamon, or coconut add variety.
