Description

This Air Fryer Matcha Lava Cake is a decadent dessert with a gooey green tea center, baked to perfection in minutes for a rich and indulgent treat.


Ingredients

    • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter

    • 4 oz white chocolate, chopped

    • 2 large eggs

    • 2 large egg yolks

    • ¼ cup granulated sugar

    • 2 tbsp matcha green tea powder (culinary grade)

    • ¼ cup all-purpose flour

    • Pinch of salt

    • Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)

    • Vanilla ice cream, for serving (optional)


Instructions

  • Prep the ramekins: Lightly butter 4 ramekins and dust with flour to prevent sticking.

  • Melt butter & chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt butter and white chocolate together in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth.

  • Whisk eggs: In another bowl, whisk eggs, egg yolks, and sugar until pale and slightly thickened.

  • Add matcha & flour: Sift in matcha powder, flour, and salt. Gently fold to combine.

  • Combine: Slowly mix the melted butter–chocolate mixture into the egg mixture until smooth.

  • Fill ramekins: Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins.

  • Air fry: Place ramekins in the air fryer basket and cook at 375°F (190°C) for 7–8 minutes, until the edges are set but the center is still soft.

  • Serve: Let cool 1 minute, then carefully invert onto plates. Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm with ice cream.
