Description

These Air Fryer Fried Twinkies are a nostalgic fair treat made easy at home! With a golden crispy shell, gooey warm center, and dusting of powdered sugar, they’re lighter than deep-fried versions but just as indulgent. Perfect for parties, movie nights, or when you crave a quick sweet fix.

Ingredients

For the Twinkie Coating:

  • 1 package of Twinkies (10 count)

  • 1 cup pancake mix

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

For Topping:

  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

  • Chocolate or caramel sauce (optional)

  • Whipped cream (optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare Batter – In a bowl, whisk pancake mix, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon until smooth.

  • Coat Twinkies – Dip each Twinkie in the batter, fully coating them.

  • Preheat Air Fryer – Set to 370°F (190°C) and preheat for 5 minutes.

  • Arrange & Cook – Place Twinkies in a single layer. Air fry 5–7 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.

  • Serve – Let cool slightly, dust with powdered sugar, and drizzle with optional toppings.

Notes

  • Don’t overcrowd the basket – work in batches for even cooking.

  • Adjust cooking time based on your air fryer model.

  • For a fun twist, try chocolate Twinkies or fill with jam before frying.

  • Best enjoyed fresh, but leftovers can be reheated in the air fryer.
