Ingredients

For the Donuts

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/2 cup buttermilk

  • 1 large egg

  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating

  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

  • 1 tablespoon melted butter (for coating)

Instructions

  • Preheat Air Fryer: 350°F (175°C).

  • Mix Dry Ingredients: Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon in a large bowl.

  • Combine Wet Ingredients: Whisk buttermilk, egg, and melted butter in a separate bowl.

  • Mix Together: Add wet ingredients to dry and stir until just combined (a few lumps are fine).

  • Prepare Air Fryer Basket: Lightly spray with cooking spray.

  • Shape Donuts: Cut with a donut cutter or shape by hand into rings.

  • Air Fry: Cook 5–6 minutes until golden brown, in batches if necessary.

  • Prepare Cinnamon Sugar: Mix sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.

  • Coat Donuts: Brush donuts with melted butter, then coat in cinnamon sugar.

  • Serve: Enjoy warm for best flavor.

Notes

  • Don’t overmix: Keeps donuts light and fluffy.

  • Check doneness: Toothpick should come out clean.

  • Flavor variations: Add vanilla, nutmeg, or chocolate chips.

  • Storage: Airtight container at room temperature up to 2 days; can freeze for later.
