Description

Celebrate fall with these crispy, flavorful Air Fryer Pumpkin Fritters! Golden on the outside and soft on the inside, they’re a healthier twist on traditional fritters, packed with warm spices and natural pumpkin sweetness.

Ingredients

For the Fritters

  • 1 cup pure pumpkin puree (canned or homemade)

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 cup cornmeal

  • 1 large egg

  • 1/4 cup sugar (brown or granulated)

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  • Cooking spray or oil for air frying

For Serving (Optional)

  • Maple syrup or honey

  • Sour cream or Greek yogurt

  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  • Prepare the Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, egg, and sugar. Mix until smooth.

  • Add Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cornmeal, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Gradually stir into the wet ingredients until just combined.

  • Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for 5 minutes.

  • Shape the Fritters: Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop dollops of batter onto a parchment-lined plate or tray. Flatten slightly.

  • Air Fry: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place fritters in the basket, ensuring they’re not touching. Lightly spray tops with oil. Cook 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and crispy.

  • Cool and Serve: Let fritters cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with syrup, yogurt, or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Use fresh pumpkin for the best flavor

  • Don’t overmix to keep fritters tender

  • Adjust cooking time for your air fryer

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days; reheat in the air fryer

  • Prepare batter ahead of time and refrigerate until ready to cook
