Description

Turn ripe bananas into golden, crispy fritters with this easy air fryer recipe. Soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside, these banana fritters are a healthy and delicious snack, dessert, or breakfast treat.

Ingredients

For the Fritters:

  • 2 ripe bananas

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 cup milk (or non-dairy alternative)

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • Cooking spray or light brush of oil

For Serving (Optional):

  • Maple syrup

  • Honey

  • Yogurt or whipped cream

  • Fresh fruit (berries or banana slices)

Instructions

  • Prep the Bananas: Mash the ripe bananas in a bowl until smooth.

  • Mix Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.

  • Combine Mixtures: Add dry ingredients to mashed bananas. Stir in milk and vanilla extract until just combined; avoid overmixing.

  • Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat to 350°F (175°C) for 5 minutes.

  • Scoop Batter: Drop spoonfuls of batter onto parchment-lined air fryer basket, leaving space between fritters.

  • Cook: Lightly spray fritters with cooking spray. Air fry 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown.

  • Cool and Serve: Let cool slightly, then serve with your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • Use overripe bananas for maximum sweetness and flavor

  • Don’t overmix the batter to keep fritters light

  • Adjust sugar to taste; honey or maple syrup works too

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge up to 3 days; reheat in air fryer

  • Experiment with chocolate chips, nuts, nutmeg, coconut, or pineapple for variations
