Description

Indulge in soft, fluffy banana-flavored donut holes made in the air fryer! These quick, guilt-free treats are perfect for breakfast, a snack, or dessert. With minimal oil and wholesome ingredients, they’re a healthier alternative to traditional fried donuts without sacrificing flavor.

Ingredients

For the Donut Holes:

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (or sugar substitute)

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

  • 1/4 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Coating (Optional):

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer: Set to 350°F (175°C) while preparing the batter.

  • Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.

  • Combine wet ingredients: In another bowl, mix mashed bananas, milk, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.

  • Combine mixtures: Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients; stir until just combined (a few lumps are okay).

  • Form donut holes: Use a small cookie scoop or your hands to make 1-inch dough balls.

  • Air fry: Place in a single layer in the basket, ensuring they don’t touch. Cook 8–10 minutes or until golden brown. Cook in batches if needed.

  • Coat (optional): Mix sugar and cinnamon; roll warm donut holes in the mixture.

  • Cool and serve: Let cool slightly and enjoy warm.

Notes

  • Use ripe bananas for maximum sweetness and flavor.

  • Avoid overmixing to keep donut holes light and fluffy.

  • Adjust cooking time depending on your air fryer model.

  • Let donut holes cool slightly before coating in sugar to prevent melting.

  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 2 days or refrigerate longer.
